But your dad said it was all your mess. But he was more graphic in his explanation.

I do have my share of things in the garage, If he didn't have so much wood working stuff I could store my things on the shelves. :haha:

It's a never ending battle I always get the blame put on for the garage. I'm probably the neatest person in the house.

Oh I know that, just figured you could hear my side of the story. I have no idea why the garage is like that, the rest of the house certainly isn't.

Ok, now here is the deal...

I sold my 82 front clip for 200 bucks... 100 for the clip 100 to deliver it, I feel like i ripped off the guy but he set the delivery price...

I can't find a 14bff at all, that will bolt in for under 350 bucks. I can find a AAM 10.5 out of the newer silverados for 325 with disc brakes and complete. What do you guys think about swapping in one of those vs a 14bolt?

Yes they will have to be moved. I figured if I call up that welder guy to come over to undo my mess up, he could weld the perches/ shock tabs on as well.

Or get your welder out and figure out how to use it. Take a stick welding night class.:woot: You claim you can't work on the truck then anyways.

Thing is if I go 8 lug in the rear can I convert my 1991 30 spline 10bolt to 8 lug like the previous year 28 spline counts?

Yes you can. Just need hubs and disks

Go for it!

Sounds like a plan, I think I will call around and see if I can beat that deal I found on a junkyard search engine.

The newer axle would match the 6.0 and trans for the new cool technology effect.

I can't find anyone parting or selling one out of a 3/4ton to save my life with the gears I need and a g80

Probably 85% of the driving this truck will see is on the roads.

And chicks don't dig one tire fires. :pimp:

They probably dont dig G80s exploded all over the asphalt either. Not saying you cant get lucky and get one that will work for what your asking it to do. Im just saying I never have gotten lucky in that department. I wont buy a 14ff with a G80 in it anymore as its another axle I have to hunt down a certain carrier for to drop the good ol Detroit in. That is the path I would recommend you to go down, as in the end, there is alot less pain and heartache. And its always 2 tire fire with the Detroit. Plus think of the stickers man!

A Detroit would be cool, but I don't think it's needed. I think a G80 would be more the plenty. If I pick up a newer AAM 10.5 I think it would last a lot longer then say a 14BFF.

Well, good luck I guess. I think your traveling down a fruitless and complicated and more expensive in the long run road. I urge you to reconsider. My advice is get a regular old 14 bltff with the gears you need in it and drive the Damn thing until you can afford a Detroit. I think some of us are starting to wonder if you ever want to drive this truck again. Get a $100 14 bolt, slap it in, and be ready to hit the road! An aam axle, while cool and beefy is VERY not needed and will only add time, $$$ , and complication. What's REALLY most important to you? Keep in mind, you can bolt up the normal 14 bolt in about 30 min and then make the swap to the aam in a year or two when you want a new project. Don't make things more complicated than they need to be unless you feel like building the truck will be funner than driving it.

I really want to drive this thing BAD. I worked on it for about 5 hours.

I just want to do it right the first time.
