I've had to stand a 4L65E on end before, in order to push down on the converter to get it to engage.

I don't know why, but late model 4L65E's are much tougher to engage the converter than any 4L60.

Doesn't sound like a bad plan to try from the get go....

Always had good luck lining it up, push it in, the roll it over 180* and push again

While I've always been a hands-on, do-it-myself kinda guy, and you CK5'ers have made me more so, there are a few things I consider black boxes, full of dark magic, not to be meddled with by mere mortals such as myself. Carburetors are one, and transmissions are the other.

Some things it's perfectly reasonable to take the thing, hand it to a shop, and say "You do this."

Had a good ol silver bullet for your old man tonight, cold and crisp, sounds like this Trans thing is gonna work out.

So...

What is your trans gender? :)

I assume that a manual (aka: stick) is logically a male transmission, which then leads to us to conclude that automatics are female.

Full manual valve bodies are an attempt to turn an automatic into a manual.. This is a trans-gender identity issue.

I've had too much coffee. Or not enough.
