While locked I do have a few issues. I also have hydro-assist, which helps a ton. The trails around here are pretty tight, and have sharp turns. I have yet to regret welding the front.

For some reason though, my buddy with a spool/flange/full hydro setup has a way harder time turning than I do. I suppose overall he may have less "give" in his steering.

Do you have issues steering? When we were coming down the switchbacks from the mountain this weekend, the JK in front of me had his front axle locked, and it wouldn't turn with a crap, he had to make 8 point turns all over the place. He then unlocked it, and it made a huge difference.

Been there, it sucks.

With hydro assist and a twin stick T-case it's a lot easier. A selectable locker is what you you really want in that situation though.

I've noticed since getting the ARB, my turning radius on switchbacks isn't that much different than the Jeeps in our group with front lockers.

Yeah I spent a lot of time getting the most turn I could and not bind the axle shaft u-joints. On the last trail run there was 1 switch back I had to take 2 turns at when everyone else did 1. Granted I'm still running closer to the edge than those other guys, but still.

My front end is welded and it isn't much different than being open as far as turning radius in 4wd. With the rear being welded I honestly don't think it makes a difference??? Seems like when you are turning in 4wd it's binding up no matter what so thats hard to judge. like @GWeakland620 I also have hydraulic assist. highway manners are fine. I'm four linked front and back on 42's without swaybars and 80mph is a breeze. This is just my .02 here btw... if you are going to be mostly pavement a fulltime locker isn't a good long term option. Just saying it WILL work for a short term option. The only thing i dont like about a locker in tge front is you have to change your driving style in slippery conditions but it does work. just need more throttle when turning.

Nope, I enjoy the time I get with the truck. It is my escape from the crazy amount I have going on.

Between remodeling my mom's house, spreading dad ashes the 29th weekend and blazer bash if I make it, it will be a miracle.

Turns out I took lefty loosey righty tighty to the extreme and tighten the adjusters to the ring gear........ ugh I don't have time for this chit, Dad's being spread in 3 weeks and 9 hours... and this turd has to go 3 hours down the highway.
