My 4:10's with 37 did not scream down the highway. Would it get better MPG sure but not sure screaming is the right word. I drove it to ID, Moab twice was not a big deal.

If I went this route I would be turning about 3100 rpm where I like to drive on the highway. That sounds like for a loud noisey ride that I'm trying to avoid.

You've summed up this thread in one word. :deal:

No thanks 35's is plenty for me, I originally wanted 33's!
I originally wanted 33's too, got 35's instead. Now I have 38's and already want 42's. I have only gone about 10 miles on my 38's, and no faster than 40 MPH. Maybe I should get 44's...

Oh, and I second the wanting an auto over the manual. If it was a dedicated trail rig, maybe a 465, but not for a driver.

Ben, was it in 2nd when the rearend locked up?

You know they do make 54s now lol

I used to have a '77 big block 2wd camper special with 4:10s and like 30 inch tires. It spun 3500rpm at roughly 65 mph but always got 10 mpg towing or not. I loved that truck. Shoulda never cut it up. Body was kinda rusty but not bad by eastern US standards.

I wish that I could loan you a truck for BB16!
But my luck hasn't been stellar lately either....

Anyway, kudos for not letting this get you down!
