That's what I'm talking about.

With what I have planned I bet it makes only 450hp to it. The 4l60e is built pretty heavily and with the 10.5 aam I think it will hold.
Why go through all the trouble of a turbo when you can easily push 450 NA. LS3 Heads and a cam and some good tuning.

The heads/cam basically require the same tuning that forced induction would. $$-wise anyway.

And as mentioned, turbos are cheap. Phoenix is low altitude, but especially up here (CO) the altitude is a killer and the forced induction gives you a lot of power back.

Boosted "LS" engines are ridiculous, mine is pretty tame by most standards and it's a handful. At 7 PSI.

I am heer for the 4wd boosted launch... just the one because unless he’s planning on a swap to a 4l80 or manly awesomer nv4500 it will only happen once before the trans says bye bye..
And for 430 hp that’s a hell of a lot of work.. the boost does not stop at 430 hp because that is pretty much the starting point..

Going boosted for all the reasons above, and who doesn't love the sound of a blow all valve. Also boosting cause everyone is going to hate hearing and being passed by a big truck.

Technically the engine is still under warranty....

Go big or go home! It will be ok :waytogo:
We had a fun conversation about this at one point

A friend of mine was running a destroked 400 in top alcohol dragster at one point he said the magic number is 28 psi on a stock block. Some place there the deck separates from the cylinders

Instead of doing this to the truck why not just buy a car that you can call fast. You are going to break it, again. Then be with out the truck for forever until you can fix it, again.

It you want something to go fast build a go fast car, that you can do burnouts down a street and not have to worry about you t-case changing gears and self destructing.

Don't have another spot for a vehicle, and not looking to make extreme power out of the turbo. The downside to the LS engine is it has to spin high rpm to make any "real power" I'm hoping with the turbo it will move the curve much lower and broader.

The down time does suck but I'm ok with it, this truck is purely a toy and not going to get rid of it. With a good transfer case it shouldn't be a issue, you can find the 241 behind a duramax and it lives just fine.

The down side is that 4L60 never wants your engine to rev freely. Gotta hold it to the floor just to get into the power band. Then as soon as you hesitate it's upshifted 2 gears now your basically idling. :D

The way I look at the turbo is people said I couldn't build the truck and it wouldn't work. So it makes me want to turbo it even more now hahah

All internal combustion engines should have turbos. Even the OE's have been moving more and more that way. The new 1500 GM pickups are slated with a 4 cylinder 300+hp turbo engine.
Probably the same lack of foresight that made it take so long to move to multi port injection from carburation
