Ordered the piece of mahogany today, wasn’t bad. A custom cut piece was $130 to my measurements.

Started digging into the vintage air and already trying to modify it for install.

Not a lot done this weekend as it’s blazing hot. 117 yesterday and 110 today. I managed to get the Holley disconnected from inside, the evaporator prepped for the install. The mahogany piece showed up as well.

That as well. Never had ac in it so I’m not sure what that’s like. The seat although torn it felt actually pretty good the springs are in good shape considering. The sun ate the seat when I parked it for a few years building it.

I have no idea what I’m doing, should have picked a cheaper piece of wood for my first wood working project…

Turns out maybe I did pay attention to my dad a little. Kitchen table bench… it’s way to hot outside.

2nd coat of tung oil on, it’s starting to pop. After this coat soaks for a hour I will wipe it down. After every 2 coats your supposed to wait 12 hours between. I want to do 4 coats so it will take a few days.

Now it doesn’t look so glossy, going to let it sit for 30 mins and start the other side.

I’m really happy with the way it’s turning out.
