Plan is to tow it up for BB, I would like to put the money towards other upgrades.

If the trans is broken it's looking like a 4L80E and the Holley Terminator X kit along with a complete rewire of the truck.

I would like to put the cash towards a set of Custom leaf springs and bypass shocks.

Are those Terminator X systems emissions compliant..? Not sure if they have an obd compliant plug on them do they?

If you need to pass emissions you should... lol

What ecm are you running and why are you considering moving off of gm's?

Aren’t you gen 3? That would be a segment swap in your tune and a repin of the harness.

Then the case adapter and trans of course.. so I don’t think your that far off. But what you are braking on a 4l60 shouldn’t be a problem with a 4l80... that’s been proven pretty well so far with junkyard units..

I'm running a GM ECM and I like the ability to modify it if needed without expensive software. I also like the idea of being able to monitor just about everything and I'm a technology nut.
For a guy who doesn't want a stock trans, you sure buy a lot of them. :D
Everyone I have put into this except for one was not "stock"

Gen 3 and I could even buy a adapter harness. A 4L80E would have been the smart choice when I put the truck together.

If only 13 or 14 more people had told you that 70 more times in this thread.

I will say I still feel like it should’ve worked.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree. Hell I'm living on borrowed time running an actual 700r4 behind my 5.3 if I beat on it every time I drove it too.

But that's not how I drive, nor do I have the power his 6.0 has. Knowing myself had more power been there I probably would have killed the 700 by now. It's also why a 4500 will end up behind the 8.1 because I will have the power then and will break it.

Not saying it's bad to hammer on the truck and drive it like a pissed off 16 yr old, but if you had planned on driving that way I would have went for the 80 right out of the gate.

Hindsight is always 20/20 anyways.

@ZooMad75 I didn't plan on it, but it is just way to much fun not to. I never thought it would preform the way it does, my expectations have been exceeded.

I had a friend drive it the other day for the muffler videos and he was like wow that thing is fun to drive and it handles extremely well.

Yea I don’t think Ben is out of the design thresholds of the 4l70 but I think they’re not strong enough as a whole.. and I’m not talking about your grandmas friends fire breathing tbi big block. As a whole in this application they break.. who knows why and who cares.. anyways Ben..

I’m where you are.. I might pull the trigger on the terminator myself because I’m getting tired of having to fool the gm stuff.. it works but it’s not easy to tune and straight forward like a standalone.. just my two cents

I think the same thing. I have a built 700R4 behind a big block that has survived burnouts and the drag strip. Even have a buddy with a supercharged 350 that was driven way worse than Ben does, plus drag raced for years. No problem.
If Ben's is more of a problem than just low on oil, I would bet that somehow it wasn't getting enough line pressure.

I think this time around either a name brand or reputable shop is going to build it. If this next one doesn't last then I have no choice but 4l80e

Again this is just talk, hopefully it just fixed itself being locked up for a few weeks.

I had a Yukon in high school on 38’s same guy built the 60 probably 5 times.

Swapped in a used low mile one. Never had a problem again.

I think it needs a gear rower.. just saying. We should race once my chit and your chit stop breaking!!
