Here is where I'm at, I'm not sure if I like it. I'm having a hard time getting it to fit. Why does fabrication have to be so hard?

Ugh, who's got a 3/4 die bender who wants to make a few extra bucks? I can't make this the way I want it to be.

Sunday I leave for a 400 mile road trip, about 70-80 miles of it is through a one lane forest road that is half maintain going around mountain ranges. Life got into the way and didn't think I was going to make it but got the OK yesterday. Better cram a month of prep into 3 days. This is what I built the truck for, lets see what it can do.

Does anyone else practically rip apart a truck before they go on a road trip or is it just me? I think it's because I abuse the truck and the racing side of me thinks it's going through the baja 1000

I hit the like button on that, but I wonder what needs work, and why you are thinking that you need a good amount of work before going.

You need essplain yoself Lucy!!!
:haha:

I beat the living tar out of it every time I drive it, I'm just anal and don't want to be that guy who breaks on something easy. I'll be in a remote locations so to speak, the forest road is 43 miles long and it's half maintained. I'll get a little bit of wheeling in and want to nut and bolt check everything along with fluids. I'll bring tools along with spare fluids to make sure I'm good but drive train wise I'm confident in it.

Here is a map, google says it's 325 miles and I want to do a little bit of exploring out in the woods so maybe add another 25.

Also forgot to mention the check engine light came on, when the truck got put together I ripped the camshaft position sensor off and did a semi half ass repair that worked. Years of thinking this is a long travel race truck vibrated or loosened the wiring causing it to loose voltage.

use the tools you're going to bring with you. Make sure you carry all the stupid easy stuff like a couple spare plug wires, belt(s), hoses clamps, zip ties, duct tape, spare hardware, straps, voltmeter, jumper cables, JB weld, fuel can, patch kit, compressor (or spare tire) etc.

Most of that is already in the tool box from blazer bash's, I'll just have to add some misc tools. My buddy has two spare 33's that I'll be taking with some awesome looking 20's..... I hope I don't have to use them but in a pinch it will work and get me home.

I'm lucky if I check the oil before I head out. I try to have my truck always full of tools and a few fluids but I have too many trucks to have each one stocked and ready right now and I've recently changed around trucks. Once I get to just having the blazer and one main pickup then I will have both loaded with my stuff for mountain trips at all times.

Thats pretty much the way I keep this truck. It will probably only take a small bag of tools everything else is already in it.

Nut and bolt the truck. Check/top off fluids and pack your spares. Make everything semi accessable if something does occur.

Key point that I know will be hard for you is to not drive like a hoonigan. You have to drive it home. Not saying you can't have fun, but big burnouts and getting huge air on bumps might not smart thing to do if you want to drive it home.

Most importantly, enjoy the ride!
