Don't want to cut the bed any, also not very good at body work
If you don’t cut it, there’s much less success

Besides, with all the other mods on the truck, why is the bed some religious piece of livestock?

So if you don't cut the bed at all, I don't see how you can install a filler neck. It either has to go through the floor, or through the bedside. I installed a hidden filler on my '70 and still had to build a box on the inside of the bed to gain space. My '72 has a door in the bedside and still required a tunnel on the inside of the bed.

I will cut the bed for a access door, but I want to retain the bed space. I want to be able to sleep in the back with gear, go to home depot and pick up sheets of plywood. Basically truck things.

my 74 has the fill neck through the floor however it’s against the bedside and out of the way. Doesn’t limit what I can or can’t do with the truck. However I won’t cut a inspection panel for the pump, not on this truck anyway.

Any reason why? I'll check out your build and look at the pictures.

I went back through my ‘68 build to find my bed filler for the tank. Couldn’t find the finished product picture. It came out really sweet and used a SS boat cap on it. Was set up for future Line-X in the bed, would have blended in perfectly. Damn

Only thing I got. Totally out of the way. I had that bed stuffed on multiple occasions and could still fill up if needed.

Nothing like looking back at video of good times with a truck ya don’t have anymore :(
Doesn’t show much. Can’t seem to find anything better.

Why not the inspection cover? Two reasons: A) Don't need it, the bed is easily lifted out of the way. B) I think it looks like $hit, the bed floor is no longer flat and the cover will likely crack and fail before the pump ever will.

Here's a couple pics of the install on the 74.

Flows well with the larger fill neck so you don't need to babysit it.

I like it, I wonder if you could run it to the top of the bed rail inside and put one of those pop up fuel fillers?

I also have a rubber bed mat on the floor, I think it would hide it rather well.

I'm sure you can. You'll need a 90, fuel filler hose and whatever boat style filler neck. FWIW it's kinda hard to find a larger diameter filler neck with the right breather hose size.

Here's the neck I used
Filler hose
and the breather hose is 5/8" ID fuel line

Thanks for the heads up, is 5/8ths the go to for a breather size? Is it just a filter on the end of the breather?

5/8" is the size of the hose that connects to the filler neck. It's a vent for filling not the vent that would normally run to the evap canister.

Check these guys out also.

He's been closing down the website on the weekends to keep his order volume manageable.

Gotcha, should have read it better.

The Blazer tanks use 1-3/4" filler hose which also seems to be less common. You can find tons of stuff for 1-1/2" or 2".

I talked to somebody there a couple of weeks ago. I needed a neck I had bought previously. Said the same thing then. They were not ready for the order load.

To add a little more info to this
EFI K5 tanks use 1.75", carb K5 tanks are smaller (1.5" IIRC). The 1.5" suck for filling, you have to babysit the pump as it will keep shutting off.

I have to turn the handle sideways to fill my truck right now.

A brand new tank can be easily turned into a 2" filler with a little exhaust tubing I'm sure. As long as there's bed clearance.

2” is what mine was. I also drilled and tapped the bottom of the filler cap. Meaning, it had a 2” nipple that was about 3” long. Put a 90* npt fitting for the vent. Finished just a hair above the gas station nozzle when put in. Like others said, no babysitting. Just an idea if you find something sweet with no spot for a vent.

Wish my ‘19 Express van took gas as well. That thing is terrible.
