Easier said then done. :rotfl:
No, actually it isn't. Break shit, or do what's necessary.
I know that you were being humorous, but reality is that it doesn't take much to save stuff from ruin if you don't have all of the pieces in place. Don't shoot yourself in the foot.

Stupid question. How hard would it be to eliminate the dead pump for now until the plans for the new back half come together?
Dropping the fuel tank and taking it off. The issue is I don't want to drop it until the blazer tank comes, I'm being lazy and don't want to do the work twice.

Yes I was being funny, I need to order the tank and find a fuel pump that will work with my setup. Up until yesterday looking at the log I had no idea it was dropping fuel pressure.

I totally get not wanting to do stuff twice. At least now you know what not to do.

Remember going low on fuel pressure is going lean. Lean is bad. Mmkay?

Holes in pistons are a result if you push it too far. Drive it. But no extended full throttle romps.

Completely true but that isn't fun, but neither is replacing a engine.

You are a big boy. Totally on you. But us old farts will openly mock you when/if you blow it up.

Something tells me if you are saving up for a house that nagging concept of “adult responsibility “ will kick in and the reality of the cost of a babaganuked engine will be derailing the house plans.

Adulting sucks btw. Don’t ask me how I know.

Oh yes, I'm not in the market for blowing up the engine. I'm at work with zero to do and this is entertaining me for the day. I have been reading/ watching tuning videos all day.

So I started thinking, I should probably keep the external fuel pump. I originally didn't want to because of the noise it creates... Now that I have one you can't tell a difference. Doing this I will also save some money.

I know I have been recently going back and forth in this thread, which shouldn't be something new. :haha: Been gathering ideas, and putting plans together, just want to do the best and easiest service I can do. Like the wiring it was super simple yet effective.

What engine does it have?

Martin
A cold start knocking 305.

I can get a 5.3 for $600 complete and my old engine wiring and ecm will go on it. I can rip out the fuel lines in my 82 sense I want to go hard line instead of push lock. I could essentially ls swap it for under $1000 easy.

Why not the inspection cover? Two reasons: A) Don't need it, the bed is easily lifted out of the way. B) I think it looks like $hit, the bed floor is no longer flat and the cover will likely crack and fail before the pump ever will.

Here's a couple pics of the install on the 74.

Flows well with the larger fill neck so you don't need to babysit it.

Bringing this back, so your top forward mount is boxed tubing then the bottom is just L channel?

Crawled under my truck and the rear mount crossmember is different, is this normal or is mine bent? Doesn't appear to be, just a different one?
