Maybe try ATF RTV?
Had to look that one up, never heard of it. That’s a possibility.Maybe try ATF RTV?
So what’s this square cut o ring you are talking about?I would put a manual in it at this point!
I second this!I would put a manual in it at this point!
Mopar makes one that you can basically apply to wet ATF and it still seals, always amazed me. Looks like its been replaced by this:Had to look that one up, never heard of it. That’s a possibility.
I think that I am thinking of the transmission side.So what’s this square cut o ring you are talking about?
That is what I have.Try ditching the silicone and using the oem gasket.

The one on the left seems thicker, I would use the thicker for more flexibility

That's not a good thing with aluminum, too easy to remove material and not even know it.I used a wire brush attachment on my angle grinder to clean it and wiped it down with brake cleaner after.
Honestly it makes no sense to me.
Yes that is correct, it indexes into the trans case with a lipThat's not a good thing with aluminum, too easy to remove material and not even know it.
Are the studs still tight when you go to fix it?
I agree with the guys, it shouldn't leak even if you park it on an uphill.
It's hard to tell with all the silicone, but shouldn't there be a pilot diameter to keep it centered? I see you have the pilot on the back of the trans case, but I don't see a pilot on the adaptor, is it flat? If you have nothing holding it on center I don't see how it would stay put and seal. Please post a picture of the adaptor surface that contacts the transmission.
