This one has a .500 boost valve, corvette servo, hardened drive shell, 5 pinion planetary, raybestos clutches, kevlar band and a shift kit. I'm hoping it lasts . :eek1:

How does something like that compare to a stock 4l80e? My buddy just had a similar one built for his 408LS, I was pushing him toward a 4l80e, but he would rather spend more money on the 60.
 
You know, I'm not sure but I'll be putting it to the test. I would hate to give you false information, sorry I couldn't help.

For what I paid for this with the upgrades and the ease of installation I couldn't pass it up.
 
damn you and your deals, sweet though. I'm curious to see how that 4L60E turns out for you, since a 5.3/4L60E combo is much easier to find.
 
Another boring update but a good piece to have.

Picked this up off craiglist with a load leveler for $100 bucks. 2ton hoist with a 8 ton ram.

Got friday off, I hope to get something accomplished over this long weekend.
 
It's usually called a military wrap. Supposedly its design is such that if the main leaf breaks, the outer wrapped leaf will keep the spring under the truck in about the right location. And that's also why they put that on the solid mount point and not the shackle mount point.
