I have Sunday and Tuesday off coming up. I hope to get the firewall squared away and a few odds and ends.

KTM would you be available the 19th? Do you think we could get this done in a day or are we looking at a couple?

Just the firewall? Or the fabbing also? The firewall is a piece of cake to get done in a day. Once we are done with that, we could start on cutting parts for the other stuff.

Awesome, I will update with progress but I hope to get a good chunk knocked out this weekend.

2 stage only. When you get the paint (base coat), ask for stabilizer with the harder in it. Clear coat will come with harder to add. Get a couple of mixing containers, a hand full of strainers, stir sticks and a couple of tack cloths.

Do you want the stabilizer pre mixed into the paint with hardener or are we going to mix those together?

I have never bought paint, not real sure how it will come being in separate containers or all together.

I think the stabilizer itself could be added... But the hardener well, that might make the paint hard in the container being mixed. :dunno:

We will mix it. In the old days, the base coat did not use hardner. So pre mixing was OK. When hardner goes in, it starts going off. Should last a long time if not exposed to air. But why chance it?

And the misc. other stuff I listed.

Perfect I believe I understand now. I'm getting so excited it's not even funny. :eek1: I hope to have this on the road come January.

Little bit of a update, I think it's turning out good.

Thanks guys, a few spots came out a little runny from the harness having a bit of water in it. :doah: I'll sand those out and re hit them.

I found out last night through a bit of research a heat gun works best for removing that black tar goop stuff.
