Made a new plate today with slotted holes this time around it worked. I used the other u bolt plate for a reference.

I need to clean the holes up a bit more but it's almost done.

So how do you get the u bolt nuts off if that sits there like that?

Then why not use the stock spring plates as the bump pad if there's gonna be nuts on top anyways??

Hmm. Just seems like a lot of work for the same outcome but I'll watch anyway.

Hopefully your gonna put some gussets on the bottom that go down to the spring plate, otherwise I see it bending real quick.

I was thinking about putting a lock washer and a jam nut on top and keeping these u bolts. I think I might be able to get away with it, the nuts are not tight just firm.

Lock washer AND jam not are redundant. Flat washer and jam nut. Longer bolts look needed.

Yes, I posted that and realized what I said, meant to say washer and jam nut. When it's all together I think I will have a two or three threads sticking out passed the nut.

When it's all torqued down I will post up for the final call.

Good news is I should be getting off at 4 in the afternoon so that leaves me with almost 3 hours of day light after work.

A light sand needed to get the blemishes out but for free hand I think I did ok?

I just need to cut down a piece of tube and weld it.

very nice pretty much what my old bump pads were more or less too. except I welded them to the top of the stock spring plate
