You guys make it sound like I should be stalking the poor guy. I don't think I live to far away from him maybe 45mins at the most. I figured one of these days I would run into him, had the chance once but didn't happen.

My welding has progressed, but not at the rate one would think I should be at.

I cannot say how much this helped me..

it may have been only stick and torch welding being taught in the class. but I learned to use my mig 100x better after that class...
 
Ok now onto my first question, how critical is the tire size? The calculator calls for a few different calculations and I'm not sure on what tire size I want.

It either will be a 285/75/16(32.8x11.22x16 or 315/75/16(34.6x12.4x16)

I wouldn't think it would be much difference to make a huge deal but I want to make sure.
 
You see I'm torn on what size. I really wish I could get a 34x11.50 but that doesn't work.

This calculator is pretty neat, huge props to Greg and Triaged :thumb:

I took this class 14 years ago, it helped me a ton. it's one day a week for 4 hours @ night. I think it's close to you as well.
It's hands down the best class i have ever taken in any level of school.

Ben, take a fricken week off. Put the truck on a trailer. And burn rubber to get here. We could have the front end done in 2 days.
 
Easier said then done, I wish I could do that! I got rid of the silverado.

I have a hard time getting a day off, they think I'm worth gold at work. That is good and bad in a way. Today I made a spread sheet, and presented it to the manager for lost flag time our team of techs has had with the computer system change.

Quick question Wade, you mentioned earlier the 3 and 4 link calculators are more for tube frames. What did you use to create yours?
 
Either way it works.:thumb: From my understanding no link suspension is perfect, you have to give and take.

Funny you mention that, I have some used 33's I plan on using for mocking up the suspension.

If you look from where I first started until now my skills have got a lot better.
 
No worries, I know you are. We all have to start some place, this entire build is a first for everything. I definitely didn't pick the easy way out.
