How would a 3 link work with 2 uppers and 1 lower? Seems it would make it easier for clearance.

Can i add a question for you? Since this is going to be a mall crawler for the most part, does 3 link have flaws with regard to driveabilty that arent as bad with a 4 or 5 link system? Or can the 3 link be made to drive/handle just as good as any other system?

I tried 2 up, 1 down. Full hydro is the only steering possible. The geometry does not work.

I can drive mine at 75 with no issues. An anti sway bar would make it better. But I don't have any drivabilty issues.

Anti sway bars are for GIRLS If you had one Wade, it would be way less fun following you at speed off road... No more lifting the inside rear tire around corners!

Is it possible to measure bump steer before you actually drive it? How much we talking, I doubt this truck would catch a ton of air.

Wade, I loaded up those spare 33's I have just to mount so you can't say tooo much. Also, it got them out of the garage.

If you have a panhard that works perfect with the drag link. Why would there ever be bump steer?


I'm looking at it from a design view, not a real world view. I know the two are sometimes different. So I just wonder

Because the panhard mount does not move with the drag link. So if you are in a turn, and go through the cycle, bump steer is there.

I figured there were real world aspects to disprove my cad model that was so easy to make work perfect...

Is there a way to force the truck to bump steer cycling the suspension?

It's going to as you cycle. You have to figure ackerman into the mix. When the wheels steer, a lot changes.and with a pan hard bar, the axle moves side to side also.
