Its like $3000. That's not expensive for something that you are going to have 800 hours into building yourself... The shocks are worth half of their freekin kit...
If it were me, id do it myself, but I have access to a shop, to a badass welder, to plasma cutters, torches etc...

Cause you wont have that much in piecing it together, having a welder come weld stuff up, scrapping your screw ups, and shop materials?
There's a priceless commercial in there somewhere. But I'm too tired to think of it.

I'm willing to bet he will have way more in it if he try's to build it him self then if he just buys the kits.
Id figure so as well. After you account for all the heims, shocks, spirings, tube, cutting, welding, making brackets, Focking up/changing and redoing things...
If you really want to get this thing running you would do the kit so that you are still not trying to figure this thing out months from now.
I'll have to finance it on my credit card is the only down fall.

Im sure a case could be argued against them being safe, but if ORD can run an entire ultimate adventure on them, i would put them in my rig.
With the cost, seriously, i wonder, how much would it cost you to get all your brackets welded up by your welder guy? And dont forget the ones you have to have welded twice or three times because you messed something up.
I think if i was you, i would buy the kit, without the shocks. Let your Credit card recoup while you put in some labor on other stuff. THen when the CC is paid off again, buy the shocks.
