I don't have anything to cover the stuff with, I didn't foresee the problem until it was to late. The headers were all cleaned up today, my helper gave me a hand on that.
So is there a reason for that much spatter? I never get spatter like that even when I weld with flux core.

Maybe he's holding the tip too far away from the work or has his wire speed too fast? 
I'm not sure on that don't have any idea. But I do know I put a ton of wire into that piece to make it look like that.
To hot, to much wire speed and to far away.
Ben, stop at harbor freight and buy 2 welding blankets. They aren't the best, but they work.

A wet cotton beach towel could work in a pinch. I normally make sheilds out of cardboard if I can.
That would explain the blow through all the time.
Kind of a crappy day, just got these dropped off 15 mins ago. UPS showed one box being delivered and the other one looked like it missed the truck by 20 mins. I figured it was my luck today that I wouldn't get it.

Both boxes showed up like promised Chris, I thought ups dropped the ball but they both showed up. I'll have to dig through the boxes again, I just wanted to see the parts.

No instructions found in the box, just receipts and warranty information. Stephen did email over a word document named Basic coilover setup instructions if that is what you are referring to.

Wade *might* be joking but I had mine linked literally in a weekend using our off-the-shelf brackets. All of our front coilover parts were designed long before I worked for ORD. It's easier than it seems

If the links and shocks are not done by February 28th, you are paying my airfare and hotel for me to go finish them.
I should have mentioned, I had the axle brackets, frame brackets (major frame surgery and welding for the way I did it) and the links completely in and cycled in a weekend.
The shock mounts were later that week (existing tube work) and I made a TON more work for myself by using full hydro with steering arms on both sides, crossover would've been an hours worth of work vs. a couple extra days.
Not trying to give you any time-line pressure, but it really isn't as tough as it looks!

Sounds like a plan, looking over them again I figured it out. At first they are intimidating but when you start picturing it in your head it's easier. I would still like to read the document and familiarize myself with kit before I jump in with my feet wet.
Define "done" I can guarantee everything will be done but the final welding. I used to have every other weekend off now it's one a month and February's is already planned for a dunes trip.
I also have to do a remain seal on a Nissan Exterra. Not to mention my 60+ hour job during the week. I know, excuses....
Done means "if the engine ran, it would drive".
I wish I could turn the key and leave the garage Feb 28th.

All depends on the ahop. Some are good. Most are crap. There is no such thing as an inexpensive decent paint job if done by a shop.
