Planning the next step ahead. I'm looking to get a stick of pvc pipe where I can use as a make shift pan hard bar and also 2 sticks on angle iron.

I want to use the angle Iron and clamp it onto the rotors. Doing this I can measure and set my drag link and tie rod 100% correctly. Once I get that done I can also use it to measure for bump steer. What do you guys think 6 feet long or would 8 be better? I would think the longer the better but it will run into the cab when I start cycling the suspension.

This would go in the back of the family avalanche. Is this close to how you did yours Wade? Or did you just put it on a machine?
 
Adjustable. Then took it to the local hyundai dealer a friend was manager of. Spent 20 minutes on the rack. Had to adjust the links to get the axle set correctly, then set final toe.
 
Final pass I'll do it on the machine at work. How did you measure for bump steer is what I was asking, think I asked you but not sure.
 
Lock the steering column with the "wheels" straight forward. And cycle the suspension from full droop to full compression. The difference in which way the "wheels" are now pointing is the bump steer. Seems the easiest way to me.
 
Never really seen bump steer, might have to you tube it. I mean I know what it is but have never actually physically seen it. Not sure how noticeable it would be with the naked eye.
 
I think dueling might have made a video of it on his cad program. Its just when the panhard and drag link don't travel in similar arcs.
 
Watch any tough truck style video of trucks with stockish suspension doing stuff they're not designed to do. You'll see the front wheels wiggling and deflecting all over the place. That's bumpsteer. I'm sure most vehicles with lots of straight up and down travel will do the same, only on a smaller scale.

If that doesn't work then I'll use the longer Ord mount.

Why would you even try this?

In no way knocking the TNA product but do you really think ORD made the panhard bracket the way they did for the hell of it? If it could be 4" shorter and mount to an engine cross member they would have done that.

Your barking up trees that don't need to be barked up.
 
I guess I wanted to try and use it because it's already there and would take 10 mins to set up and give me a visual if it occurred. More like a piece of mind thing you know?

I agree and 95% sure I'm using the Ord supplied bracket that I'm sure will be stronger and work better. Also I'm not sure how well the bolts would hold up anyway, over time with excessive use it would crack or break something.
 
Like I said, im going to use it but want to force it into bump steer for a science project to educate myself. I'll use pvc pipe so really I'm only wasting time and 10 dollars?


Maybe set up my phone to video it for others to see how it works.
