Cool just checking. Most people when they are first learning just don't see the puddle forming due to a crappy hood. If you can see the puddle you should be all set
Also you can view solar eclipses with it.
I had to unpack it for this out of the box.

If you want your neighbors to fear/avoid you for the rest of their lives, wait until a full solar eclipse and stand out in the front yard with your arms crossed and your welding helmet on and just stare straight into the sun for 30 minutes without moving. You'll never have to worry about them coming over to ask favors ever again.

Was looking on google images and found some sad pics. This first one I think was taken after the city told me I couldn't have it in the driveway anymore. I stopped caring and would just cover it up. The second picture was when it was still driving, I think this would be right before the engine blew a freeze plug and the build started.
It was much cleaner looking while I did upkeep and tried to make the neighbors happy.
The parts burb I bought for 500 bucks, I towed it home behind the 82 on a dolly. I went through a intersection smoking the tires hysterically laughing.
Would be nice for Google to update the pictures when the truck is done.

With the links being buttoned up this weekend my main focuses are going to the hoops. Started thinking about plating the frame and wondering if I should do one giant plate or make individual plates.
I thought on the plate you were supposed to slot where the brackets would go and double weld the jointed area?
That frame looks awesome, I just hope those bump stops are not at ride level.

That one will never fail. Welding the bracket to the frame, then adding the plate and welding the bracket again j's ubber strong. But necessary for what you are doing. One large plate is better. IMO
That is my thinking and what I would like to do, Those bump stop brackets is how I wanted to weld mine onto the frame using the side and bottom surfaces.
I just hope I can pull this metal work off, never tried anything before. Wondering how I could bend the sheet to meet the contour. I have one of those "weed" burner torches, could I simply c clamp it onto the frame heat the area where the bend is needed and use my hands to pull it? I of course would be using gloves but not sure how much heat is needed. I would assume 1/4 plate would be enough?

1/4 is what should be used. I doubt a weed burner would be enough.
