Yaa I'll probably maybe eventually get Ord leafs or just a set of factory springs.

It's a set of factory springs with 2 leafs added and re arched to fit the aftermerket springs in the front. I had 3600lbs in the bed and wasn't on the bump stops, the trans couldn't shift out of 2nd.:haha:

Well not much of any progress today, thing just didn't like me...

The TnA cross member has to go, just won't work without modifying it way to much. I wont be able to get hardly any up travel before the diff smacks right into things.

 If if isn't one thing it's another. Not really sure what to do about other then a ord cross member and who knows if that will work.

Yes it would but I'm not sure how to make it so it is strong enough. I have been welding on steel before but not tube.

I have an empty engine bay with an ORD crossmember in the bottom of it. Im doing a 5.3 swap and my motor mount brackets will be here next week. But it might be another week before I set the motor in.

Tell me how much the pan hangs below your frame where the crossmember sits and I will tell you if the ORD part is going to work for us :thumb:

Your pics make it almost look like it might work.

Sounds like a plan I want to venture to say i have about 2 1/4 of allowable clearance for a cross member. I wrote this measurement down and can't remember what it was for though... Hope I'm correct, I'll be back over tomorrow to take a look.

Wade, do you have any pictures of your cross member? I'm curious how you made yours with how the jimmy is set up.

Another option I have is make the ride height higher and have more "lift" It already will be close to fitting in the garage. :dunno:

If the tube is made of steel, I don't see a difference :screwy:

So why is it suddenly interfering now? I thought you had it all but finish welded at this point.

I made the mistake of not really checking the passenger side, I was mainly focused on the drivers side and thought the diff wouldn't matter.:doah:I thought it would fall into place but the truck had other thoughts. So I'll bump the jack stands up another notch and see what that does.

One day, that way I can keep my bed space.

Friz, do you have the big block or small block cross member?

I know this is for a std SBC, but it isn't hard to fab up.
Just make sure that once you get the crossmember cleared you don't smack the pan or balancer... :eek1:

I was thinking about something like that but my fab skills are limited.

Just about every place carries them. Jegs, Summit, you name it.
You would have to change the motor mount plate out but that is easy.

They are made over long on the ends, you trim them down to fit the frame, then slip the plate ends over the main "U" and weld them in.
