I say you need to just scrap this whole mall crawler idea and turn it into a desert racer. Or a monster truck. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

Who's with me? You need to start a poll to find out what everyone thinks.

Thanks! Sounds like I will have about 3/8 of a inch of clearance with the SBC cross member. Glen can you measure the big block one I sold you?

Sorry bro, traveling for work for the next week.

Btw what was decision for swapping to the TNA cross member? ORD's kit comes with a tracbar mount right?

With the first set of mounts diy4x made it was a 1/4 inch off the oil pan. I had them space up the mounts for more clearance. I did this backwards and should have just kept it rather then spending unnecessary money.

My stupid mistake you gained from.

Talked with Chris today at Ord and he measured the small block vs big block members. Looks like the small block cross member is going to work. I may need to do a slight horizontal notch on the forward tube and fill it in. Anybody know what this technique is called?

The new calculation if everything works right I'll have 41% bump travel.

Sitting at ride height, looks like 35's it is, hope the 3.73's make the trans happy.

Is there a particular reason you mix and matched DIY, ORD, and TNA parts between the crossmember, mounts, etc?

Seems like that's all stuff that could possibly work together better if from the same company. Plus saves on shipping if you get it all at once.

I think that has to do with all the changes of plans along the way and when he bought parts.

I bet if he had started the build planning on the ord kit, then everything would have been from them.

Just read back through the last 382 pages to see all the different ideas that's been going on here.

No, i get all that - read through the entire thread a while ago and have been keeping up with it. I'm just wondering even in situations like post #841; where he initially installs the ORD crossmember and the DIY engine mounts. Biggest issue there was slim clearance with the oil pan and I have to wonder if that fear would have been assuaged if he had used the ORD engine mounts from the get.

I'm guilty of it too! Built my Corvette in my sig down to the frame TWICE in 11 months. Completely rebuilt with brand new stock suspension, only to blow it apart and go coil overs, fabricated trailing arms, etc and be stuck with $6k+ in suspension bits.

Been dealing with the mix and match nightmare for a few years now.

Or if he learned to weld there would be no problem.

Does ord make LS engine mounts? I thought that was the reasoning for the diy4x ones.
