Alright you caught me, I'll probably have to post questions and I'll probably change colors half way through. 
Brown santa just got here enough time for me to unpack it and figure out a plan for attack if I need to modify it a little.
The oil pan is going to be really close to the cross member so I was thinking instead of getting the big block cross member and waiting another week I could possibly cut along the red line then plate the tube back together gaining the oil pan clearance and maximizing the bump travel.
What do you guys think?

You can only do if you weld it.
I do plan on welding it back, I figure I could cut it and flip the piece back over. Or should I just weld in 1/4 flat steel I have laying around?
Flat.... How much room between the pan and crossmember without cutting it?
Close maybe a 1/8 if I'm lucky.
1/8" is plenty, it's also 100 times easier to space the engine up a little rather than mess with the crossmember.
Not sure how that would be easier, wouldn't I have to get new mounts made?
Aren't you already having header - cab clearance issues already?

I was thinking of a thin plate between the frame and motor mount. Just throwing out ideas.
Did not think about that, I think that may work.
If you think that will work for you, let us know and we can get you the plates that we use to build our motor mounts from. Easy spacers.
Will do, I appreciate everything you have done Chris. Always a pleasure talking on the phone and dealing with ORD.
Beings the mounts are angled, would that not push them together some? Probably not enough to really matter, but enough to make it a nuisance?

That was my thinking as well, not sure?
I tried to space my motor mounts to get more clearance on my ORD cross member to oil pan but just as you say its throws off the holes just enough to make them impossible to line up. And that's with a piece of 3/16". Only option is to modify the cross member or build taller motor mounts.
