Since it's a relatively small amount of tubing you could use .120 wall 4130 and yield really high strength. Making those bends with .250 wall would not be fun unless you have access to some really good equipment. Like previously said, it's pretty pointless to use tubing that thick. 2"x.120 is standard for most stuff on trophy trucks and they see a tremendous amount of abuse.

The .250 wall will be fine for splicing the two parts together, but if you get bored and feel like driving over to my place I'll give you some .120 wall to use.

It would be lighter and easier to work with. Other than that, there's no real benefit.

I have a jd square bender and a 1.75" 90° die you can bend your tube on for free....

Buy some 1.5"x.120" and cut/sleeve as necessary. Easy, cheap, strong way to screw up fabrication and then fix it

I got about 5 feet of .250 wall, no .150 I don't see a problem with the .250 wall unless you guys do.
