Got back on the truck. Struggled but got this mounted today. Giving my hands a break and going to try and mount the gun rack.
Sat and looked at the truck today, it sucks it’s taking me so long but lots of planning. I admit I rushed a lot on this truck in ways and half ass did it. Going back to clean it up and be pretty is really testing my patients and skills.
I always do way better work on other peoples stuff and they look at how I did it on mine and they are like wtf.
Now is the time to undo that.

I can’t believe how hard this was to install… a rivnut tool wouldn’t work and I didn’t want to drop the head liner. I should have just sent a sheet metal screw through it all.

Installed the 6x9’s and I had to give them a go. Jumper cables and a battery on the floor.

Struggling with my hands trying to get the front 4 speakers installed, they all have cross overs. I think I bought to much stuff…
I had some of this stereo bought from 2008, dad was supposed to install this, I think it’s a little why I waited so long. I got a little in over my head for the first stereo install and why do I need 6 speakers and a sub in a single cab truck?

Finally something that fit right, the driver side is a shit show….
Did you consider cutting a circle closer to the size of moving membrane to allow the sound to go thru cleaner?
It’s got some space between it but yes
It would sound a lot better sealed to that surface.
Got all the speakers installed, sounds really good! Had a buddy come over and help tune the amp as I have no idea what to do. I just flipped switches until all of them came on. I need to put something over the wires to hide it a little. Also I don’t remember if they sell a flat piece to cover up that vent hole. Maybe something similar I can cut and screw in would be nice.
It’s the little things, my dad put these on early 90’s so they got installed with rivnuts
Here is some updated shots of the interior with the floor cleaned. Not sure if I want to run that battery cable under the truck to a bulk head or under the carpet.
Looking very OE+.

That is the plan, just like the outside.
I agree, don't run it outside the cab.
It’s 0 gauge battery and I measured it to go under the carpet but it’s so big. On the side of the tcase shifter it won’t be bad.

If you're going to run it under the cab make sure you protect it well, and fuse it at the battery, so you don't car-b-cue it.
