They have the 14bolt sf rear end. It's actually about perfect for you Ben. You don't need an HD even for towing your truck. The 1500 hd will be well within its limits.

For sure I thought it was a sf but someone said it had a ff. Guess I will find out and I agree it should be perfect.

5.3 engine right?
LQ4 6.0 with the 4l80e trans.

The motivation has been there it's the ability to go to the truck and having the funds again is great.

Hope all goes well. Its a sharp truck.

Be good to get you some wheels under yourself again.

Hey...does (potentially) having a tow rig mean that you can bring the truck closer? Or does that not work logistically?

Little bit of both, over the last break I tried to rent or buy a house and it really wasn't in the cards yet and better to wait a year.

thanks buddy, got the bank and everything all set to get it tomorrow.

Well, we'll be here for ya when the cards work out!

You'll have more pictures, right?

I want to make sure this gets over here from the other thread:

I am hoping that the consistent ribbing will provide motivation and encouragement to start working on the build again. It's the only idea I've got at this point... :dunno:

worry about/build your own sh*t.. you're not living his life...

your ribbing is only funny/inflating to you, not motivation for him...

My humblest apologies for coming across that way. I'm not trying to be a drain on him, and it's definitely not inflating to me. I have enjoyed Baba's build a lot, it's one of just a small handful that I follow on this site (this thread being the only other one that's active right now). I really like the ideas that he has come up with, and the concepts that he has already implemented. I'll never come close to building the suspension that he has already done, even if he never finishes the rest of the truck. I've told him this before, and it's still true now. I can't physically help him finish the build, but I have been trying to encourage from a distance. Since that appears to have failed, I ask your pardon and will refrain from such in the future.

Ethan

Thank you very much, it's complements like that push me further to reach my goal! Even people telling me I couldn't do what I have done push me to do it and laugh.

Campfire, your intentions are that of the rest of us I'm sure. Because sometimes, a little friendly ribbing and "calling out" can be motivating.

Baba and I have talked at length on Facebook. He knows my take on his thought process and build process. He knows his flaws and strengths and weaknesses and he is ok with it all.

I just wanted to point out that the 90% "riding" posts can be demoralizing, not motivational..

sometimes making someone "take a joke" is just an excuse to be a douche injector.. sometimes..

let's look forward to some progress here in a couple months when wheels have been had.. :waytogo:

Trust me, I've got the point. Would love to go back a few hours and un-open this can of worms...:doah:

No worries guys, I have pretty thick skin and I'm really going to push to get this thing going. I might take a day breather here and there but I hope to not go months again.

nah, it's good.. I'm guilty of it occasionally too I'm sure.. it was just a reminder to all of us.. we can all take a ribbing, but occasionally that balance between constructive and destructive becomes blurred.. and only the recipient notices..

Thanks for calling me out on it. I will be more careful and more constructive in the future. :deal:

Thanks guys, don't beat yourself up to hard, it's all good.

This is pretty much the way it looks.
