I and others have put so much work into that firewall forward it is ridiculous, and to think it seems only half way done!

I still cringe when you say g80s. I know they work when you know how to work em.... But still. I dont trust em. Hell i dont trust open diffs after blowing my spiders up lol.

This truck won't see much crawling if any and I don't plan on pushing it very hard. I have a weak foot, ask wade I moved the Jimmy at blazer bash and it was lugging up the rocks with like 5% load.

Everybody's affraid of driving the Jimmy.

Including me sometimes.

I drove it over that stump when i moved it in the dunes. I really wanted to just mash on it and go down the beach... But i held off, I remember a certain comment to richard earlier in the day about shooting someones hand off for the steering wheel, so i didnt

Given that G80 axles tend to run into reliability issues (even without rock crawling), why not ditch the weak carrier before it strands you? (I'm speaking as one who has been let down by a G80 that saw >98% street duty)

Take the whole truck, not just the steering wheel. I have it insured for 40k for theft.

I figured I would leave it and see how it works. If and when it busts I'll upgrade.

Thanks for calling me out on it. I will be more careful and more constructive in the future. :deal:

I blame the seasons.

This time of year when the weather is cold and bleak, I catch myself posting stuff that's just a bit more "edgy" or "intolerant" than I do at other times of the year...... :doah: I find myself going back to edit recent posts to take some of the "jerk" out of them. :haha:

If I were being complete self-aware, I'd probably say that it was from my own frustrations about not working in the shop on my own junk lately. I want to see SOMEBODY making progress so that I can feed off that energy and find some motivation for myself.

In the dead of winter, I'd bet that everyone is just getting antsy... Give it about 60 days and this site is going to be bustling with progress and build thread updates from everyone, and I'll betcha the attitudes will all be a lot more positive too....

I didn't purchase the truck, ended up having multiple oil leaks and had a exhaust leak at the collectors. Trim pieces also needed replacing and the tires were down to the wear bars. Also my favorite thing was his dad co signed on the loan and wanted 500-1000 more then the ad said.:eek1: needles to say I wasn't told any of this and I drove home with a fat wallet.

Craigslist sucks.
