Nada is showing 20 to 25k for it. And they do not have the Remington edition option.
Figures, the market is a buyer's opportunity. They are selling way under blue book right now especially gassers.

I only have around 8k to spend. So unfortunately that is a no.

Just to ensure you don't keep spinning your wheels, It would seem to me that an 03+ crew cab in nicer condition than the one you just looked at would be incredibly hard to find. No? Maybe it would be easier to just find a run of the mill silverado 1500 extended cab? You should be able get a decent one for $8k. It would do all that you need it to.
I'm just not sure on how the brakes would be, I would hate to try and panic stop a big load.

4 wheel discs work pretty good. And besides, if your going to trailer your truck, the trailer had better have trailer brakes rated for the load your hauling. Trailer brakes do pretty much all the stopping for the trailer/load.
Yes trailer brakes a must. I probably won't own the trailer will have to rent it most likely maybe borrow.
An easy brake upgrade to the 99-06 1500s is to use Tahoe/Suburban dual piston calipers and larger rotors at all 4 corners.
most rental trailers use manual brakes
the Uhaul I had handled the blazer fine and the brakes worked (I think, though I was in a 2500 diesel)

I believe you are talking about "surge brakes". And yes, they can work surprisingly good.
That is my understanding they don't have electric brakes.
Ok with the help of others and really thinking about it a half ton will work.
Also enough is enough I'm going to start working on my truck, it's not going to build it self and I reserved a cabin for blazer bash.

Better to step to the plate and swing at the 3rd pitch than sitting in the bleachers. Even if you only turn a wrench to 1 bolt a week its forward progress.

This is true, but publicly posting the goal up will also bring in support from the community. Kinda like a CK5 cheer-leading team.
