On another note just to add a bit of tech in here. Bosch 044 pumps are badass.

Worth every penny. Can be in tank or external.
 
Yes. I'm n fact I think we own several at this point. Never had a failure, however I think we also changed them every few years on the race car and made the used pump a spare.

More tech, goat built also has a tank that accepts a standard Chevy sending unit and pump assembly that I hear works well.
 
Once I can afford it I want to do a rear tank under the bed and at the same time Ii might swap pumps and use this as a spare.

I would hope he would just do a single blazer tank in the rear and not mess with multiple tanks and all those failure points....

Aside from introducing the tank selection valve, I'm not sure he's introducing any extra failure points. And he would be adding redundancy, which is probably a good thing for a trail rig.

FWIW, I'm happy having the extra tank in my truck. :dunno:
 
I want to do a 30 gallon blazer tank with rock sliders from the front fender to the rear tires.:thumb:

The cheap walbro will get tossed on th shelf and a Bosch pump will go in.

Sounds like extra weight on one side of the truck to me to throw him off balance while in the air :popcorn:

Yeah, I did have that thought. But doesn't he have a saddle tank on one side? Adding another one could very well wind up balancing things out. I figured you would be against adding weight in general, regardless of location.

Switching to a rear tank would make it easier to pull wheelies, no? ;)


Ben, are you planning to switch tank types, or to add an additional tank to your existing setup?

I feel the same. It's a built in spare fuel pump. Saddle tanks haven't been a problem yet and I've done the hardest trail I'll do with this truck.
 
No worries, it says packaged delivered now.I will call up and see if they have it. Still have plenty to do and I'll be working on it this weekend.

Just sucks it's been almost 4 years sense it had a running engine and I'm a fuel pump away lol
 
If your worried about it just go get a pump from vatozone for temp to get the kinks worked out??
 
Delayed progres today, it is to hot to be working in direct sun light. I did pickup some bilstein 5125's for the rear and a 50 dollar GPS ready tablet I'll use for trail maps and onboard obd2 diag.

What is everyone's android app favorite for maps?
