There is a learning curve to Backcountry Navigator (BCN) but I really like it. You can select areas of the map to download to your device so you aren't reliant on Internet. You can import GPS exchange files from sites like traildamage.com so you know where you're going. I also record tracks anytime I do a wheelin trip so I can see where I've been.

I have important the trails I'll be on in moab I like it better then the previous app.

Will this one give you directions to the trails?

No, it doesn't do turn-by-turn. Usually I'll have a general idea where I'm heading and between that and the watching the map I can find the trail heads. Sometimes I'll just put the trail head in Google Maps for the turn by turn. As long as you start the route finding while you have Internet, the Google Maps will get you there if you lose Internet along the way. It caches the route.

I was using one of the topo maps while we were driving around the grasslands east of home and it even showed names for each of the windmills we drove by. I thought that was cool.

IIRC, r3ddog uses this app too.

Yeah, he uses BCN. I have the paid version. I've also paid for some of the "fancier" maps. The free version is more of a demo than anything else.

I'll have to see if I can pony up here the bash. Thanks for the help Scott.:thumb:

Sounds like Tuesday and Wednesday will be a truck night. Hopefully we can sneek on Sunday to. The 31st is my dad's birthday would be neat to have him take me for a ride.:thumb:

I wish, Sometime this week.

Made a cry for help, blazer bash is coming very fast and the truck still doesn't run or drive. I need all the help I ca. Get.

You only need 1 day in Shawn time :thumb:

Is that a 72 hour day?

I have to say this, it is kind of nice knowing the Jimmy is dead and I do not have the time or money or energy to fix it. Don't have to go through it. Don't have to get the Frankenliner ready. Just some cloths, bedding and my wallet and I am good to go. Kind of relaxing.

Cary on.

Yeah. I went through that last spring while planning our out west trip. It was so much more relaxing to take the little car vs. getting the truck road-worthy. Freed up much time to do other things.

Not going to lie, having to let people down, scavenge every bit of change and beg people for help sucks. Having worked all day and night to sleep a hour or two before a 11 hour day at work doesn't help either. It's a good thing the girlfriend really likes me or she would have been gone a long time ago. She doesn't mind eating Mac and cheese, or noodles for dinner to see this in Moab.

Blazer bash is going to be a sign of relief for me.

Sounds like a keeper! My wife understands the dedication/obsession I have for my truck and getting it to Moab. She hasn't said a thing about the money or time spent. You got this man, stick with it.

Just got off the phone with lkq trying to get parts. The guy laughed at me almost looking for a shifter.:haha:

She is a keeper, she's upset she can't go this year.
