Was causing at 78, lost 4th rpms shot to 3000. Pulled off to free way to the exit. Proceeded to loose 3Rd and 2nd. Drove 1st gear for 5 miles to drop my buddy off. Then drove another 3 miles home.

I've never done a full tear down of a 4l60, but essentially they're all the same. I have service manuals and can print off gm instructions.

I had my buddy do my 700R4 in my 87 K5 with full rebuild, talking clutches,servo,valve body work,sun shell,new converter and trans cooler for $690 out door with warranty/and knows abuse it will take. We did use to work together at Pontiac and he does have his own shop now.
No GM or good Transmission guys in your area to rebuild one for decent price?
