So a little bit of old dude advice, and this is proven with studies, for the next 6 months you need to be really careful (along with your GF) with your house spending. The general idea is that you get a bad case of the want's and end up driving yourselves into Credit Card debt making the house right. Trust me you will say we're not going to to that, I will this, she that, we another thing; I've moved enough times to tell you this is real shit man. Talk about, keep your heads together and in the game, Rome wasn't built in a day, your new place doesn't have to be either.

Past that, spend the money that needs to be spent on the truck but keep the things you NEED, vs. those that you want in focus.

In other words money will be tight for a while here because you have a lot of things pulling you various directions, each one is important but they don't always have to be the most important.

Tell the GF I said Hey.

That is exactly the plan we came up with, good thing we already have stuff to put in the house. We need to do some repairs and upgrades but that can come with time.

He's right too. We just did that when we bought our first house last June. Now we are in dig out mode again.

I'm dead serious when I say this is a real thing and they've done studies on it, Even when you know what's going on and are aware it's too easy to get sucked in.

Sounds like a build thread to. Thanks for the advice, I'll watch it closely, what's awesome is we both are cheap asses.

What's hilarious is I'm cheap but don't look at my truck or t his thread lol
You'd be surprised how fast it happens. Physically sit down and run a ledger or quick books. Make sure you have a surplus every pay period.
Average American has $16k in credit card debt :shame:

Oh it has, the paint will come some day.

My plan is to have this truck look different then last year come blazer bash time.

Called transtar today, I have a charge account through work and they have a complete kit with high energy bands for $164 delivered to my desk.

There are lots of ways to make it look different while still being a cheapskate. :deal:

But if you roll out an expensive spray job to go with all your expensive parts, we will never believe you are cheap. At least, not when it comes to the overall strategy of this build. :deal:

I just want to do it right and not have to replace a engine and two transmissions in 75 miles....
