Trans is almost out I'm being really lazy and don't want to do it but I have like another hours worth of time left.

It's hard finding the motivation to mess with the transmission anymore. I keep trying to convince myself this is the last time.

are you buying questionable transmissions or what the hell is destroying them. I messed up my pump and TC when I first installed mine. Had to pull it and get the pump replaced and new TC. Reinstalled it and overheated it pulling a trailer. Fixed the cooling and not one issue since. I did replace the fluid when I overheated it and it was perfect. Switched to Amsoil and all good.

This was a junkyard 4L65e that I bought too. Just curious as to what the common denominator here is. Busted trans to begin with, cooling issues, install issues, ????

Two is unfortunate, three is crazy, four is WTF.

PS. Not trying to throw shade, just trying to help figure it out. Then again, I haven't read the entire book this thread has turned into so maybe this has been addressed.

I still have a great trans guy here.. 1200$ it'll be good to go. .. just saying.. sounds like some of these dudes are not looking or all have missed some gross detail. Transmissions don't just blow them selves up for no reason.. not like that. We're not talking about just burned clutch packs or burnt fluid we're seeing hard parts shattering themselves.. something is wrong with the cores you got or something else on your setup could be causing the failures. Flexplate miamatch or driveline length something is off.. wiring maybe but for mechanical stuff like this it would have to be really really wrong.

1st one torque converter came apart
2nd used take out that was already broke
3rd built wrong and back half wasn't getting fluid
4th we think sun shell broke.

but how did the sunshell break? They are one of the upgraded pieces over the 700R4. Was there any hooliganism that could have hastened its demise? I agree. Something more could be at play.

I am wondering if the rear axle locking up shat the sun shell
