Do you have a way of verifying that the shaft(s) are not turning? You could well have a lockout stuck in the locked position. But the shaft should not be turning if all 3 ends are disconnected. That would be overly magical.

If you can round up a spotter that would help eliminate this possibility.
Why not just crawl under the truck and spin the shaft. If the t-case is in neutral and hubs are unlocked he can turn the shaft by hand. Even with drag the shaft won't turn fast enough at speed to cause vibration.

Sure your rear shaft isn't the issue?

Wait a minute. Rational thinking in this thread? What is wrong with you?
 
Funny you mention that Brandon. When I got home that was exactly what I did, the rear shaft does have a ding near the yoke. It wasn't like this until the front shaft is in, I can get it up to 75 with no vibrations, toss the shaft in and I can feel it all over.


It's just a stock front shaft with more or less length, I don't remember.
 
I have a 1350 CV in the front and it runs fine at 65+. One of my goals was being able to run highway speed in 4wd.
What's you caster angle set at? I'm wondering if that is affecting it? Mine is set at 4, does anyone know what factory was?
 
I want to say the manual lists 4-7 and I'm thinking it's at 4 now thinking I would use it as a base.

I have to work tomorrow so I will have a little bit of downtime to dig this up.

I have a long spline front shaft 1330 with a CV and can do 55-60 with out any noticeable vibration. Don't like to do it for long 4wd but it will do it.
 
I like to get as close to 7 as possible. There really isn't much down side to much caster. More caster, heavier the steering, but that heaviness is also what keeps it straight and returns wheel to center

As of right now coming around a corner if I let go, it twitches going back to center. I know I need more to add but it's one of those things that when I get around to it.

I pulled this spec up on all data.

Trans is fine, I'll crank it up to about 6 and see what it does. I would like the wheel to rotate back to center, although it isn't a big deal but it would add even more to the comfort of driving.

My ultimate goal is to have no rattles or leaks and be able to drive where ever I want.
 
By rotating the axle to get more caster you will also be changing your pinion angle which could cause vibrations.
