So because I have made a fool of myself plenty of times whats one more?

I started thinking a lot today about the noise and the cause, I just assumed sense I added a little over a quart in the transfer case that was the reason.:crazy: But if it was low why would it only do it on deceleration and not all the time?
Around the time of August I put a rear pinion seal in because it was leaking, I didn't replace the bearings or the crush sleeve just went a "little tighter" on the pinion nut... Turns out what ever I did the bearings are toast and have a tiny little bit of play in it causing my deceleration noise for 1-2 seconds and it's gone only at highway speeds.

@kgblazerfive , I swear I fixed it but actually created a bigger problem by lack of experience. I just hope the ring and pinion are ok. Either way the case leaks like a son of a gun and is being pulled out anyway for sealant.
 
Ring and pinion are probably ok, and you have the absolute easiest diff to fix this on. Pull the pinion carrier and put new bearings/crush sleeve in it and it'll run a long time. Crushing a new crush sleeve takes a LOT of torque, FYI.

I have a huge impact that will do it, but I'm going to call a local diff shop so I don't screw this one up again.

I thought you had a semi float 14b? Do those use a crush sleeve as well.

Right stuff is the way to go. Clean the old sealant off, rough up the two surfaces, clean with lacquer thinner really well, put the two halfs together and just snug the bolts up, wait 24+ hours, torque all bolts, install and fill.

It's the newer 10.5 AAM 14b with discs.
 
Your impact probably won't crush it, unless it's really bad ass
 
Was thinking about doing my gears, was gonna order one of those crush sleeve replacement sets w/ shims instead.
