Your truck is surprisingly quiet.
7/8 Doug thoey tri t's to a 2.5 inch y pipe to a 3 inch cat to a magnaflow exiting out behind the drivers rear.

Quiet is good on the highway which is what I want. I built this truck to run 80 no problem for hours at a time.

I really wanted to go but drove a ton that week and lacked a lot of sleep that I caught up with.

Truck still going strong, had to bring it to work today with my daily driver rear tire to get patched. Was much easier then messing with the spare.

One of the things I have been putting off Is rear brakes.... It still has the junkyard rotors and pads when I first bought it.

The rear has very little braking and I need to fix that. I hope I can put a adjustable prop valve in and give that a start. Can anyone share what size thread and fitting will be required to use the factory lines?

What do you have for front brakes? Did you do anything w/ the factory combo valve?
Has k20 front brakes and the original c10 prop valve. Really hoping I can get away with new rotors, pads and a prop valve to dial in the rear. I might play with a new master cylinder if i feel it needs more.

Looks like there are 2 brakes for the 3/4 ton. jb6 and jb7. Different piston size and it makes a difference - 2-15/16 vs 3-5/32 - about 15% difference in piston area... Need to figure out what you have. You'll want to gut that combo valve, esp to get the residual valve out. That's just gonna burn up those disks in the back holding pressure on them. Once you gut that see how it feels - and then you may want to look at MC/prop valve.

I believe right now I have the jb6 brakes and I have very little brake in the rear. I have had to hit them hard once and the front end took the majority and it shook the wheel both ways.

I can check tomorrow, the master is life time warranty at autozone.

I don't remember how many piston are in those rear calipers, but I am betting that you need a different master to get enough to them, but I am not an expert on this at all.
Maybe you just need to work on the combination valve, then bleed them very thoroughly. ???

Believe it is a 2 piston caliper. The rear defiantly has fluid to them and a good stream. It took Shawn and I a while to get them working with no air. I really think a prop valve would work but I keep reading horror stories about disk swaps.

That combo valve not only has a residual valve, but it also has a delay built in and some restrictions. Gotta gut that thing. You may still need a bigger MC because of the volume needed, if your combo valve is fighting you, it's most defiantly going to cause problems - even w/ the bigger MC.

FYI there are 2x2" pistons - totalling 6.3 sq" of area and the fronts are 6.7 sq" So there's some semblance of balance, but each vehicle is going to need some tuning.

Hmmm, what do you really recommend, what did you so with yours? How well does it preform?

Personally, I'd gut the combo valve an then look at a bigger MC. Do some hard braking and see if you need an adjustable valve - if your backs start locking up, you will.

I have jb8 brakes up front - the big Bendix ones which have the same piston area as the 04 fronts I pulled the rear from - so I went w/ an 04 master cyl. Balanced from the factory. And stops well, but was a tight fit...

The van mastercyls are an easier fit, very slightly smaller brake bore (1.3" vs 1.4" I believe) and may be appropriate for your fronts. If you want to come take a look at mine and see what it took to fit that giant 04 in come have a look.

I have to change out the fuel pump tomorrow night then can take it out for some brake checks.

Make sure you buy new hoses... Those hoses in the rear are known to fail holding pressure on the pads even after you let off.
