Kinda hard to tell exactly what you have going on w/ the brackets.. However, the one w/ the cuts in it could be compromised. Those would be stress risers and a good place for cracks to form.
 
My plan is to weld them shut and add gussets. All i have is a vise, body weight and a framing hammer to shape them lol.
 
That is how you learn. If somebody shows you every step, you will never get past the design process on your own.

Why does it suck?
To high, not ridgid enough, not able to get all the bolts in, welded to hit and has pin holes, and the seat doesn't slide enough forward and back. I think the square tube did more harm then good.

On the good side for the first time ever I have been able to see the entire guages. I was supposed to drive this 3.5 hours Thursday or Friday night but I think the tahoe sounds like a better plan. To many leaks, not enough money and the seats are not correct.
 
Don’t be discouraged man! Cut it off made the adjustments and weld it back up! Sometimes it takes 2-3 times or more before you get it right..
