Tcase is back together ran out of rtv to glue it back together...

How much fluid is ok to have between the trans and the case? Mine dumped maybe half a quart, was this just cause the truck sat for a few weeks? Everytime I drive it and park it there would be a puddle under it.

Well... I think it’s supposed to be dry actually. Lol
 
Above picture is with the rear housing off Google was misleading.

I think this is my truck telling me a 4 letter word by a 3 letter word to drive it more often.
 
I don't remember there being an output seal on the trans at all, I know that neither the TH350 or 700R4 has one, the 4L60E shouldn't be any different.

There is a big arse o'ring on the adapter that "should", theoretically, keep the fluid from leaking out like you are describing. It would fit into the first groove right next to the six bolt holes in your above pic.

I did see that oring, it's coming from the output shaft.
