It appears to have different bearings then my 91 case did and I stuck my finger in both fill and drain plugs it felt completely different!
While I understand what you are saying, since we discussed it before....

Pulled the case apart tonight, looks to be in good shape. Anyone know the spec on the chain? Is their a way to accurately measure the chain?

This is what I know... if you take the chain and with your fingers about 3 inches apart squeeze the chain together anything over 1/8th of an inch is worn out.
A new chain will have no play. Not precise but a guide. Use your own descresion.

Even with the case half split? The main shaft does move some so it tossed it off.
