I never thought the weak link in this truck would be the trans. Guess I need to fix that if it's truly broken, I'm hoping I can get it to at least last until after Blazer Bash.

Plan is to tow it up for BB, I would like to put the money towards other upgrades. After?

Who’s towing you at BB if it’s broke?Plan is to tow it up for BB, I would like to put the money towards other upgrades.
If the trans is broken it's looking like a 4L80E and the Holley Terminator X kit along with a complete rewire of the truck.
I would like to put the cash towards a set of Custom leaf springs and bypass shocks.
That is why I need to check the trans out first, I'm not buying anything until I know whats going on with that first. I was saying I don't want to have to put the money into a new trans and would rather have that go towards new suspension for the rear.
It has to run and drive dependably before different springs and shocks will work.
Looking kind of cool in the driveway is for Jeeps and FJ Cruisers. Not square bodies.
Hopefully no one, I won't go unless the truck is fully prepped and I'm confident. But one day we all eventually are that guy.Who’s towing you at BB if it’s broke?
So I am bringing you the SM465?That is why I need to check the trans out first, I'm not buying anything until I know whats going on with that first. I was saying I don't want to have to put the money into a new trans and would rather have that go towards new suspension for the rear.

Nope, don't want to have to shift. I'm a automatic fan unless it's in a heavy duty tow vehicle. So I am bringing you the SM465?
ok
You'll be on the hook of a heavy duty tow vehicle, sooo...Nope, don't want to have to shift. I'm a automatic fan unless it's in a heavy duty tow vehicle.

Zero shits would be me, who built those? The last two were done by a shop that was owned by a guy we raced with.Just seems bananas to me, I’ve put two 4l70’s behind 525 ls3’s and both ran/run beautiful, the first had some tune issues with when it commanded lock up and the fluid temp would boil, once that was straightened out and a better cooler installed it was great.
This was in 20ft long lead sled Buick, that was ridiculously heavy, with a stall converter and hardly any air flow. Coupled with a owner that gave zero shit and drove like a pissed off 16 year old.
Don't forget the harness and some type of controller.Cost of a trans. Changing t case input. Crossmember driveshafts is my guess
