It got to 230 degrees, and proceeded to pump fluid out the back of the tail shaft. I had to shove 10 quarts down it to get home, the dip stick shows clutch material.

Time for a refresh with steels and clutches, or the entire drive train is getting sold.

One ton rear already, 3/4 front. Maybe someday if it's needed. Don't really want to wheel the truck anymore, it's changing directions. If i had the room the new one would be in progress.

I thought you had a SF rear axle for some reason. Street or off-road I don’t think the 10 bolt or Dana 44 is strong enough. However the truck would be a perfect candidate for a drivers drop super duty D60 with the duramax drivetrain.

It has the 10.5 am out of a 05 silverado. If i went that route then the ord links are worthless unfortunately.
 
Or just a 4L80, they are a lot stronger than a 4L65/70, easier to control than the 6 and 8 speeds, and not as huge/heavy as an Allison.
