Allison’s are for tow rigs. No way I would want one in a off-road truck. They are a learning trans, and shift way too slow going from forward to reverse.

It's wheeling days are numbered, time to turn it into what it should have been.

Or just a 4L80, they are a lot stronger than a 4L65/70, easier to control than the 6 and 8 speeds, and not as huge/heavy as an Allison.
The extra gears are really what I want, but nothing wrong with a 4l80e
No taco Tuesday update? this thread sucks

Im on my way home from a 4 day camping trip in a remote location in the woods and yes we had tacos.

Can you keep in one piece that long????:haha::haha:
It will be a slow process...

2 months before Blazer Bash I take it off the road and do a complete race prep tear down and check everything. Last weekend before is a nut and bolt check. Drive it a couple times and then it goes on a trailer. In 2017 the road test was to my friends house at 4am to load it on the trailer to go.

Ordered the transfer case rebuild kit and chain from ORD,

It's the last thing on the truck that hasn't been rebuilt in the passed 2,000 miles other then the engine and diffs which has about 9,000 on it. :eek1:

short day but I'm still out here. What a adventure it was getting to this point. I have multiple cuts and bruises... some bigger then my hands. Each day I pulled in I heard my name yelled across the parking lot, im not sure who you were but thank you. Today I parked jumped out and heard hey I followed this build start to #finish" and talked for a half hour.. This truck has defined who I am, and has made so many friends, ones I can't replace. Some say it's just a truck, but to me it's my life. Seeing family and friends climb all over it and laugh sure made my weekend.
