Allison’s are for tow rigs. No way I would want one in a off-road truck. They are a learning trans, and shift way too slow going from forward to reverse.
It's wheeling days are numbered, time to turn it into what it should have been.
The extra gears are really what I want, but nothing wrong with a 4l80e
Im on my way home from a 4 day camping trip in a remote location in the woods and yes we had tacos.
Calling up our friends at ORD today, going to order a transfer case rebuild kit along with a new chain. while it's most of the way out I might see if I can get the trans looked over (yearly inspection)

2 months before Blazer Bash I take it off the road and do a complete race prep tear down and check everything. Last weekend before is a nut and bolt check. Drive it a couple times and then it goes on a trailer. In 2017 the road test was to my friends house at 4am to load it on the trailer to go.
Ordered the transfer case rebuild kit and chain from ORD,

The old grimy one might be for this truck one day or my future build.
Tomorrow at 6pm it's supposed to be at a pre car show. Friday and Saturday it will be in all day...

Whats funny is the rear tires are sitting on concrete. But a 68 camaro and a 05 tahoe are in the way.
Made it, truck coughed starting then died. Primed the fuel pump again and it fired up. Out of the gate it scratched tires into 3rd gear. She's a ripper.

short day but I'm still out here. What a adventure it was getting to this point. I have multiple cuts and bruises... some bigger then my hands. Each day I pulled in I heard my name yelled across the parking lot, im not sure who you were but thank you. Today I parked jumped out and heard hey I followed this build start to #finish" and talked for a half hour.. This truck has defined who I am, and has made so many friends, ones I can't replace. Some say it's just a truck, but to me it's my life. Seeing family and friends climb all over it and laugh sure made my weekend.

No the golf ball size bruises on my right arm and left wrist is from putting that in.
Had to push the tahoe out and I got caught between a light pole and it.
