The collector is actually the best spot, because it combines one whole bank, so you average 4 cylinders. If it was closer to the head it would only read one cylinder(or possibly 2 with the Tri-Y), and if it was further back you have an increased potential for collector leaks to cause issues.

Got the old wiring out and started on the new. Need to figure out the 4 wire brake switch and the wiper controls eventually.iif anyone has a simple diagram that will be helpful. Super impressed with the ezwiring so far.

Two terminals are for the brake lights. I believe that they are the ones on the end, check it with a meter. They should be connected while the plunger is out, like it would be when you are on the brakes. Push it in to open the connection.
The other 2 are for the cruise control.
These will work opposite of the other terminals for opening the cruise circuit when you step on the brake.
Check my information by testing it, in case I remembered incorrectly.

Hmmm, weird this being a custom deluxe it didn't have cruise but being a 82 it had a 700r4 which is why it's a 4 wire to unlock the converter .

Well at least I warned you about my memory on this. I forgot about TCC , forgot about the color code for the brake lights.

Trim level had nothing to do with options like cruise control. You could get a Custom Deluxe with cruise control, and a Silverado without. That being said, it is much more likely to see options like that with a Silverado, due to someone willing to spend more money on a higher trim level, is also more likely to want to spend money on options like cruise control.

Yes you are correct, and what I meant.

So for the fuel like I would like to rebuild it sense it's all push lock. The new intake has the fuel rail a little further so I would like to start with that.

Would I be able to get away with a 3/8 fuel line or do I need a 1/2? Looking to do stainless line and have the straightener for 3/8

With EFI pressures, -6 and 3/8" can support quite a bit, but if you might add boost at some point down the road I would up it to 1/2" or -8 if you are redoing it anyway. I can get a lot of plumbing supplies from Fragola or Earls, and more brands if you need any help with that. What fuel pump do you have? A standard high flow walbro is good for about 700 HP NA, they also have a wide body drop in unit now thats good for about 1000 on gasoline. I like the adjustable regulators from Holley, and I like to put the bypass regulator after the fuel rails, not before, it leaves the fuel rails unrestricted from the pump.

How much do you think this is good for?

I would not buy a walbro off amazon, too many counterfiet walbros in circulation and that seems too cheap to be real. The fake ones usually don't last that long. I've had the same one in my truck for 11 years now, and its quiet. A real one of those is good for about 700 HP NA, you need to use genuine submersible hose with it, it will fit in a stock 87 TBI sending unit, preferably with a TBI tank with baffle.I can get you one if you want, but it won't be fake and it won't be $50 either, ha ha

Hahah, It is just the link I used to show which one it was. I have the 87 tank with the tbi sending unit already. Just not a fan of the hose I used years ago and want to put it back to hard lines.

So you already have the walbro pump in it too?

Good submersible hose is about $30 a foot, luckily you only need less than a foot.

The annoying thing is the stuff they include with the pumps is not true submersible.

Yes sir, already in it been kicking for 6 years. I over pumped it for future. I want to say we used good hose but honestly don't remember.

I used a Walbro 255 in an '87 tank and sending unit 10 years ago when I did my FAST EZ EFI system. Still going strong today. I used the FAST brand pushlock hose for the supply and the stock 3/8" hardline for the return.

Get a legit Walbro and don't over think your fuel system.
