I still feel like wood belongs in houses, not automobiles. Some old timers would disagree, that's OK. That's a beautiful piece of wood, I think it should be on display not hidden behind your seat.

If you care about acceleration you do care about weight, but you are not wrong on the woops. The ratio of sprung weight/unsprung weight certainly affects the performance with high speed offroad.

It's a compromise yes, but one I'm willing to deal with. I'm also looming at alternatives to make it look like mahogany to be lighter.

I LOVE the real wood interior stuff in all the conversion trucks and vans.

Here is my thoughts behind the seat on the back firewall shoot like 6 or 8 rivnuts into the cab mount this then all my add on stuff… amp sub ecu power block and ground etc.

Thoughts? My dad loved red mahogany so it’s the only place I can think of to put it.

That would make a beautiful table top.

If you just want the Mahogany look for your truck you could try a veneer of sorts for a door panel or glove box...

Thinking along the lines of that. We have a really nice local shop was going to measure and see if I can get a quote over the phone.

Another option is to turn a small piece on a lathe and replace the knob on your column shifter. That would look good and feel good, IMO.

I know thinking about placement of another man’s wood…
