1982 C10 Restoration

Not much been going on just enjoying driving my truck and doing what it was made to do!

I put on a new EGR valve it had a bad hesitation which should lower my NOX reading above on the emissions testing.

It's getting painted soon. :woot: I'm not entirely ready for a paint job but a painter I know made me to good of a deal to pass up.

Wow thats cool, but you gonna make sure he doesn't paint the passenger door? How will you find your truck again when its one color?

It's going to be weird seeing it one color again I have been driving it around like this for 6 years. :haha:

Well that suburban became a donor rig... it's a 91 four wheel drive.. can anyone guess what I'm taking off besides whats in the picture.

Diy4x will be getting a call for sure

wow like seriously your going for it and gonna do a 2wd to 4wd... about time dude

Go big or go home right? This is the perfect time to do this swap sense my 2wd front end is destroyed and my 2wd tranny is slipping.

For sure! for years you've wanted a 4wd

What else are you going to use from that burb? How are those stock aluminum wheels? Mine are all pitted real bad

I'm going to be using the front fenders, and doing a 91 front end conversion on my truck. I plan on possibly using my 82 front bumper with fog lights where the turn signals are. I'm also going to remove the HVAC system.

I'm undecided if I'm going to keep the power mirrors or not, what do you guys think? I have a line on a possible 2005 6.0L complete, I'm just finding out how to make it emissions friendly before I pull the trigger.

I have been saving to build this truck for 5 years.

Oh ya, the wheels are not bad at all with a proper cleaning they should turn out pretty good.

I'm lazy so I'm leaning towards the power mirrors and locks.

now this build is getting exciting :waytogo:

Thanks, I'm excited beyond belief. As far as today progress the front clip is off the donor.

Tuesday the painter is getting the following parts

1.Cowl Hood
2.Cowl piece
3.Left and right fenders
4.body piece below grille

I wonder how much powder coating cost.
