1985 D30 M1008 BUILD 52s/37s

After getting the front wheels in the air I was able to diagnose what is going on. I have quite a bit of play up/down in my kingpins. I already have new springs and bushing. Lower bearings are not avablibe locally. I have read that a good fix/rig to take car of this slop is to shim the upper spring with washers. Going to give that a try in the morning. Hopefully this solves my death wobble

Report back.

Well it helped. A lot. I can drive it. Just used a few washers I had laying aroun that were the size of the base of kingpin spring. The drivers side still has a little play. I don't think I could add a another washer and still get the cap on. Used 2 washers per side per side. I may re do them with nylon spacers.

Took the gauges apart and cleaned everything. Stuck LED bulbs in everything. Put on my "new" red dash pad on. Also hung some visors.

You want an actual gauge cluster instead of that idiot light setup?

Looks good but it also looks like you should put the rear leaves back in to level it back out. Did you lengthen your front driveshaft?

As I progressed through this lift I was tossing every bolt and scrap piece of metal in the bed. Including leafs and Rear drums, which are quite heavy. I think when I empty the bed I should be fine

No I have not yet. Hopefully get that done this week

There is also a guy on ebay selling the same thing for real cheap. I used it before I did highsteer.

Thanks guys may be worth trying. So the crossover steering arm would mount over the spring delete plates?

Good news is I lost 720lbs. The rear is more levelish. Still may be a little low for some reason

Bad news.....pretty sure this looks like a crack in the 208. It's been leaking I wondered If it was a crack....found it.
