It is funny to see all the different opinions on here but obviously it makes more sense to make it a SRW truck.
Pretty sure thats how I am going to go now. Really won't get started on it till summer anyway, crew cab is in the back yard now no way to really get it around to the garage.
I have been working on cleaning up the 6.2 and will get the 465 out of the bed of the truck along with the 205 here pretty quick and get them cleaned up.
I am pretty set on the flatbed though. I tend to agree that keeping a normal box would be a better looking option. But it is going to be a very large wheeler with a long wheelbase, so the back of the bed will get beat up pretty good too. That is partly the reason for going flatbed.
My plan on running h1 rims is going to stay for now but going to try and get at least 12 bolt rims. Unless I can score some of the 24 bolt ones. Both the 12 bolt and 24 bolt have higher load ratings than the 8 bolt rims.
I hope to keep adding to this thread just to keep me motivated.
And now onto the question, I have found 2 basic flywheels, on rock auto they have AC delco flywheels for near 200 bucks, then the off brand is 130ish.
Worth the money to get the AC delco flywheel? I think no but I have never done anything with these 6.2s and a 465
