1986 M1008 Rebuild

Some more new stuff:eek1:
42" Pit Bull Rockers:woot:
Also I'm gonna push my rear out around 2" by adjusting my links, and switch to a standard rear hub to go back to a 67" wms to wms, then push the front out 1.5 using the zero rate. That will put me around 114" and a full width rear again.

issue is see with a moto is that you cant hear anything.

You can always drill a 1/4" hole in each side, where the ears reside.
(With head REMOVED from helmet!!!)

It doesn't change the structural stability of the helmet, whatsoever!

...

I have a friend that works for Snell.

Snell is the company that test's 90% of the helmets you can buy.
When you buy a helmet, it will probably say, "Snell certified" on the back.
This means, that my buddy, or one of 2 other people, tested and approved it first.

They do Shock, Pressure, and Destructive Tolerence testing. :D

DT is the funnest to watch.... Blast shield, and all. :eek1:

...

Anyways, I drilled a helmet, and had them pressure and shock test it.
It still passed within manufacturer tolerences.

"Manufacturer tolerences", means your neck or skull will crack before the helmet does.

So ear-holes are a viable option.... At least w/ Fox helmets. :thumb:

*If you drill ear-holes, you have to glue a small piece of pantyhose, or fine screen,
over the inside of the holes.

Keeps the dust out.
Probably common sense,
but like my daddy used to say, "Common sense, ain't all that common no more."

EDIT:

Don't EVER put a "BELL" helmet on your child...
I can't say why, but I can say that I would NEVER use one.

Ever.

Very small update:laugh:
A friend of mine was working off some parts he want's so he spent 2 days cutting and grinding for me.

David all looks good with the coilovers buddy

Hopefully I can get down soon so you can have tubing over your head!

Well Mitch came over today to work on the buggy and flex it out. Got a pretty good look at it and need to make some changes but no big deal really. Also got a real good idea on mounting bump stops to. We probably have a couple more Saturdays to go on the rear then on to the front. I think the coil overs are gonna be sweet.

Last weekend Matt came over and started on my TH400 rebuild by tearing down 3 cases, one for the HD case, another for the 203 output and the last one for the new guts. Also added a few bars to the cage and am working on the bump stops.

That trans pan is from the bread van with the Cummins, unfortunately it wasn't the TH475 in it. Also Mitch had the idea of adding another bolt to the bump cans and then split them all the way through.
