1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

But I know I want to get into the frame and do some serious work to make this car handle. We'll see.

How serious? Are you going to wind up redoing the factory welds like David is doing with the charger? Or just adding reinforcement here and there?

What did?
The fact that it's probably going frame off?

redoing factory welds? And reinforcement here and there? What is this, amateur hour?
If I end up pulling the body it's got to be worth the time.

I thought G body was front and rear sub-frames?

Anyways, this thread made me think of this vid I just saw on the youtube...

G body's are full frame.
That monte is pretty sweet.
I hope I get my cutty into the high 9s low 10s

We're just gauging your interest level. I'm stating the obvious, but frame-off work so quickly turns into a spiral of M.A.W.

Didn't know whether to expect a Jetta-length build or a Greg72-length build. Cheers either way... :thumb:

Yesterday I picked up a 2005 6.0 LQ4/4L80E from a crashed van.

It has around 140k on the ticker.
Should be a decent starting point. Picked it up for $1300.

This will be a slow, slow build and I have many other irons in the fire. But if I purchase something for this or have any ideas I'll post them. Also technical questions as my build plan comes together.

Well I bought a 88 Monte Carlo frame.
This should allow me to do chassis work and then just swap it out down the road.

@bent72 this should tide my thoughts over for a few days. Thinking about what I want to do to this.

Thanks to @6872xtc for the idea how to haul it, I remember seeing a pic of your son hauling his truck frame in the back of a pickup.
Saved me a trip to get the trailer.

Had to go to the burbs to pick it up. Guy was a g body guy so we got along great.

Funny the looks you get from the yuppies in there high end SUV's in that dump truck.
Me and the dog screaming down the road at 65 mph with the dump truck exhaust.. lol

You should add a peep mirror to that blue door, and go for the mirror trifecta! It would be like the three bears of mirrors... :flipoff7:

What manifolds/headers you going to run on this Lemon?

Most likely I'll build my own.

So far I don't like any of the turbo mounting I have seen.
