1988 K5 4 Speed

I think 2” would be perfect. Personally not a fan of body lifts cause the bumper always looks funny not being at the correct height.

The bumper still lines up correctly with a 1” body lift.

That’s one of my favorite parts about them.

My proportion valve is leaking like crazy and it looks like parts stores don’t carry them. You have to find something aftermarket or look at a salvage yard for a good used one. But there are many different ones it seems. Can I just take the end apart that’s leaking and try to reseal it? Or what do I do?

I have sold so many of these.
I would first try to take it off and see if it needs to be sealed better or the pipe going in is rusted and leaking.

Took the proportion valve apart, cleaned everything and greased the o-rings. Doesn’t leak now and still stops okay.

Took everything out of the back end to replace the fuel filler cover. Ripped out all the jute padding and cleaned everything. Painted some things as well.

Im so jealous!! Being from Lakewood this truck was right in my backyard too! It went to a great home tho, you obviously appreciate it for how rare it is. Almost brings a tear to my eye seeing the pics of yours. I bought the same truck from the original owner with 76k on it in 2005. A 16 year old me HAD ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS owning a truck that nice. I put the rally’s and 32’s on it but it had 235/75’s and dog dish caps when I bought it. I beat on it for 30k and sold it for three grand in late 2007. So much regret. Never, ever ever should have A.driven, and B.sold that truck.

It was just like yours. 465 and no air. Only difference was interior color. Still remember the VIN too....1GNEV18K1JF139076. Haven’t seen it since I sold it....if you ever decide to sell yours, let me know!! I’d love to have my old truck back again. Yours is as close as it could possibly get!
Yours looks great with the ‘styled’ wheels btw! An inch or two of suspension and it’ll be perfect. Thumbs up.

@benchseat4speed Man that was a clean Blazer you had! Looked really good with the rally’s. Mines far from perfect but it’s getting so hard to find a decent K5 that’s affordable these days. I definitely appreciate it and love driving it. Trying to decide if I should throw the LS into this thing instead of the V20 currently...

Thanks! You got that right nice ones ain’t cheap anymore, and the cheap ones ain’t nice. Almost nothing in between. Looks like you found the perfect truck imo it’s clean enough for the ladies but not so nice you can’t put a couple dents in it. I love a clean original, but an LS would probably be the best thing that ever happened to that truck. Gotta keep the 465 tho! Looking forward to see what you do with this thing.

The only thing that would ever replace the 465 is a NV4500, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. The original engine isn’t horrible but it smokes pretty bad on a cold start. I’m guessing valve seals need done. Would be pretty neat to have some power and a lopey cam. :)
